So, um, guyssssss, I just wanted to take a moment to appreciate something if you don’t mind. Remember this scene from season 2? (as if anyone forgot it ;) )

And remember what Daryl says to Carol?

“Just go! I don’t want you here! You’re a real piece of work, lady. What, are you gonna make this about my daddy or some crap like that? Pfft! Man, you know jack. You’re afraid. You’re afraid ‘cause you’re all alone. You got no husband, no daughter. You don’t know what to do with yourself. You ain’t my problem! Sophia wasn’t mine! All you had to do was keep an eye on her!”

Well, aside from all the amazing parallels to his own thoughts/situation and how his words are basically the opposite of what he really feels, I wanted to concentrate in particular on the “You ain’t my problem. Sophia wasn’t mine” bit because does anyone else find it ratherrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr interesting the way Daryl is placing HIMSELF into the role of father AND husband (or if not husband, potential partner anyway) in those sentences?

He could have chosen any other way of wording it but he chose to bring it to that level on his own.

So, clearly he HASSSS been thinking about a few thingssssss.
A lot.

Sophia, of course. But also, ahem, Carol! And what she is to him. And even about why he wanted to be the man that saved her little girl (though, yes, I think there was more to this than just Carol, she’s certainly wrapped up in it!)

So even if he hadn’t quite been able to understand any of what was happening at this point or how to really convert it to what it is, his relationship with Carol was most definitely on his mind. Enough to make him blurt out the possibility of that potential between them.

Sigmund Freud comes to mind in this scene. I would have liked his opinion here. :D

Did this make sense to anyone? lol.
